Thom Skerry has been making music since childhood. Classically trained on piano from an early age, he discovered Irish folk music as a young man, taught himself to play the guitar and soon took to the stage with lots of beloved classics, playing Irish pubs and small venues with nothing but a guitar and a microphone.

Over the years the sound moved into a studio, grew richer, the instruments multiplied: tin whistle, fiddle and more, all learned by ear. But a full Celtic ensemble was never within easy reach.

The ensemble he had always heard in his head, fiddle lines weaving over guitar, tin whistle cutting through the low strings, voices layered like weather, had waited long enough. Thom Skerry makes the music he carried for decades: layered, atmospheric, rooted in tradition, built for the long silence between the last song and sleep. His upcoming album Lace Over the Deep will fill that silence.
